What to expect when you visit our Butterfly Room.
From three years to five years.
The room consists of toileting and changing facilities and a large play area.
The Butterfly Room is a large room offering children a variety of resources to explore and learn.
Within the room there is a variety of different areas:
Technology, art and craft, small world, numeracy and literacy, cosy corner story, water play and home corner and imaginative play.
The room operates on a free flow basis where children are encouraged to make choices and decissions based on what they want to do with the support of the staff.
The Butterfly Team
There will be members of staff spread out within the room supporting the children in their play and learning and offering a variety of experiences for children to join in if they would like.
Each child is allocated a key worker who is responsible for supporting and planning for their key worker children. Staffs liaise with parents/carers on a daily basis through informal chats.
There is also a whiteboard which informs you of some of thekey experiences planned for the day.
Our Daily Routine
The routine within the Butterfly Room again is very flexible. Staff plan a variety of experiences daily so children have a choice of what they would like to do between free flow and planned activities. There is a free flow access between indoors and outdoors throughout the day.
The nursery follows the Argyll and Bute Council Learning and Development framework 0-5 years with children at the centre of what we do and plan for their development and interests.
Information can be given for each topic so please check our notice board for our Home Links.
